How the American Mind was Closed

According to Alan Bloom's book, "The Closing of the American Mind", americans have moved way from an objective assessment of the facts to ascribing all facts as merely subjective.  In other words, If the antidote against propaganda is an educated society than the best way to create fertile ground for propaganda is to uneducate a society. Here in the U.S. we have taught that the "big questions" are "subject" to interpretation. Don't talk about politics and religion they say because you'll neveer agree. Not withstanding that some things are indeed subject to interpretation, like vanilla vs chocolate, many things are not, and if the time were taken to logically ascertain truth from error, than a great deal of things that we are told that are "subject" to interpretation simply aren't What has happened is that since most believe truth is relative, the only thing that matters in an argument is the persuasiveness of the arguer, not whether reality meshes with their claims. And if someone believes that truth is relative than propaganda is just as equally valid as educated decisions.  The democratic party has based its existence on propaganda trumping truth.

Democrats must either Destroy Christianity or attempt to Re-Define It

For a thinking person (someone who who uses logic to separate truth from error and remain internally consistent) christianity is wholly incompatible with the current democratic agenda.  Unfortunately, there are many individuals who call themselves "christian" and what they really mean is that either: A) They were raised going to a building called a "church" one day out of the week and perform some cerominial behaviors for a few hours, or B)They have warm feelings toward and receive emotional satisfaction from reading the Bible and talking christianese. Unforutnately, both these groups have put no thought, none what-so-ever into how the teachings of the christian church ought to affect their bahvior.
 
Currently, I believe that the Obama administration is trying to "re-define" what it means to be a christian. Obama call himself a "christian" yet champions abortion (violation of the 6th commandment-Do Not Murder), gay (special) rights (Violation of the Genesis 2 procalmation of the purpose of marriage),  advocates taking from the rich and giving to the poor (Violating the eight commandment regarding stealing from others), advocates and stokes the flames of envy to fuel class warfare (Violating the tenth commandment which instructs to Not covet  your neighbor's possesions). To the democrats everything is policitical. Of course. when you catch them being hypocritical they will cry "foul" and invoke "personal privacy", but those protests are meant simply as a smoke screen to distract, change, and re-frame the argument.
 
What thinking christains should remember is that the guidelines that God has provided are not given because God wants to "boss you around", but because he knows how humanity  can best avoid the evils of this world and acheieve happiness this side of eternity. He should know, he made us. He made those who don't like Him or even acknowledge Him. That doesn't change the reality of what He has said.  Christians know, and we should stop voting for people who reject the bedrock of christian beliefs.

Things that Tick Me Off

I am tired of News Reporters who at most recieved a communications degree and probably never took a class on economics, acting as though they know how to fix the economy, while all they are doing is repeating democrat talking points.
 
I am tired of News Reporters who probably never took a class beyond chemistry 101, lecturing us on the "scientific evidence" for global warming. These people wouldn't know the difference between the scientific method and  using a tarot cards.
 
Why doesn't anyone notice that almost all democrats are lawyers, who have never had to function in the "real world", while most republicans are businessmen who only reluctantly got into politics because the damn lawyers were taking over the government?
 
Why are democrats allowed to say all the time "Its for children", and no news reporter has the guts to tell them, " If you're so concerned about 'the children', why are you okay with abortion?
 
Why do republicans continue to act as though th enews media is going to give them a fair shake? When are they going to go on the attack against CBS, NBC, & ABC like the dems do against Fox? Fox is way fair to the dems considering how stupid their ideas are.
